Tree Care Services

Tree
Removal

Sometimes removal is the safest option. Our safe tree removal service uses controlled rigging techniques to protect your property, family, and outdoor space. We handle everything from a single fallen tree to large-scale commercial tree removal.

Any size, any location.

Tree Trimming & Pruning

Proper tree trimming and pruning improves structure, promotes growth, and reduces the risk of storm damage. Our professional tree trimming follows ANSI A300 standards and ISA best practices to protect the health and beauty of your trees while enhancing curb appeal.

Emergency Tree Service

Tree emergencies can occur at any time. High winds, heavy snow, and storm damage don't wait for business hours. Neither do we. Our emergency tree removal team responds quickly to protect the health and safety of your landscape.

Tree Health
Care

Our comprehensive plant health care program identifies and treats common tree diseases and stressors, including blight, chlorosis, canker, powdery mildew, and Emerald Ash Borer infestations. We combine soil science, nutrition management, and targeted treatments to restore tree health from the roots up.

Stump
Grinding

After tree removal, a leftover stump is more than an eyesore — it attracts wood-boring insects, creates a tripping hazard, and ties up yard space that could otherwise be used productively. Our stump grinding service eliminates the stump below grade, leaving your outdoor space clean, safe, and ready for whatever comes next.

Wildfire Mitigation
Services

Our certified arborists assess your property's fire risk and develop a strategic mitigation plan that selectively removes and thins trees and vegetation to reduce fuel load in compliance with Colorado's defensible space guidelines and Boulder County requirements.

FAQs

When is the best time of year to trim trees?

Trees can be trimmed at any point during the year, but late fall through winter — once trees have entered dormancy — is often the optimal window.

Fruit Trees should always be pruned in the dormant season, as well as American Elms, as they are affected by season-dependent diseases/insects that are active in the growing season.

Cooler temperatures reduce the activity of insects and pathogens that exploit fresh pruning cuts, significantly lowering the risk of disease transmission. Dormant trees also reveal their full branching architecture once foliage has dropped, allowing an arborist to make more precise structural decisions.

In Colorado's Front Range climate, that dormant window typically runs from November through early March.

Will insurance cover tree removal?

Homeowners insurance generally covers tree removal only when a tree falls on a covered structure (your home, garage, or fence) as the result of a named peril such as wind, lightning, or a sudden storm.

Routine removal of a healthy standing tree, or removal of a dead tree that hasn't yet caused damage, is typically excluded.

Policy language varies considerably, so the best first step is to review your declarations page and contact your insurer before the work begins. Documentation, including photos and a written assessment from a certified arborist, can strengthen a claim if one is warranted.

Who is responsible if my tree falls on my neighbor's house?

In Colorado, liability generally follows negligence rather than property lines.

If your tree was visibly dead, diseased, or structurally compromised and you had reasonable knowledge of that condition, or were notified of it in writing by your neighbor, you may bear financial responsibility for resulting damage.

If the tree appeared healthy and fell due to an unforeseeable weather event, your neighbor's homeowners insurance is typically the first line of recovery for damage to their structure.

Because every situation carries its own facts, consulting a property attorney and notifying both insurers promptly is advisable. Written documentation from a certified arborist regarding the tree's prior condition can be decisive in disputed claims.

Will someone pay me to cut down my trees?

In rare circumstances, yes. But it depends almost entirely on the species and quality of the timber.

Large, straight-grained specimens of commercially valuable hardwoods (black walnut is the most common example) may attract interest from sawyers or timber buyers willing to offset removal costs.

In Colorado's Front Range urban forest, most residential trees, including the abundant cottonwoods, elms, and ornamental varieties common to Louisville and the surrounding Boulder County area, hold little to no timber value.

Why is it important to have a licensed arborist?

An arborist certified by the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) has demonstrated tested knowledge of tree biology, proper pruning technique, and safety standards, knowledge that directly affects the long-term health and structural integrity of your trees.

Improper pruning cuts, incorrect removal of live tissue, or over-thinning can introduce disease, accelerate decay, and shorten a tree's life by years or decades.

In Boulder County, where tree canopy preservation is an active municipal priority, working with a certified professional also ensures that work is performed in compliance with local ordinances.

Many municipalities, including Louisville, Longmont, Boulder and Denver require permits for removal of certain trees on public property, and ISA certification is a baseline credentialing standard recognized by those permit processes.

Can you trim trees in the winter?

Yes, and in most cases, winter is our preferred time to do it.

Once a tree enters dormancy and drops its leaves, the full branch structure becomes visible, enabling more precise pruning decisions.

Dormant-season cuts also heal more efficiently come spring, and the absence of active insect populations reduces the risk of pests exploiting fresh wounds. Fungal pathogens that spread through pruning cuts, including those affecting oaks and elms, are far less active in cold temperatures.

For homeowners in Boulder County, Colorado, scheduling pruning work between November and February often means better results for the tree and greater scheduling flexibility for you.

Who is responsible for locating utilities before tree removal?

How much will it cost to remove my trees?

Tree removal pricing is driven by two primary variables: the size of the tree and the accessibility of the work site.

A young or smaller-diameter tree with clear equipment access from a driveway or open yard will cost considerably less than a large, established specimen located in a confined space, near a structure, or inaccessible to a bucket truck or crane.

Additional factors include whether the tree is dead or structurally compromised (which can complicate rigging), whether stump grinding is included, and the volume of debris generated.

In the Louisville, Colorado and Boulder County market, removal estimates can range from a few hundred dollars for a small ornamental to several thousand for a large cottonwood or mature evergreen in a difficult location.

The only reliable way to price a specific job is an on-site assessment. Figures quoted over the phone or from a photo are approximations at best, and not formal price quotes.
